Here is the eleventh post in our Kick the Clutter Challenge series. It challenges you to bowl through your bathroom bottles.
How many shampoos, conditioners and bath soaps do you need? Are you a sucker for the latest and greatest hair product? Have you looked through your stash of bathroom bottles recently? It’s time to command that your bottles in bathrooms be gone!
If you’re an empty nester living with a significant other, embrace your lifestyle and realize that it’s just the two of you from here on out (most likely). Warehouse-size items are not necessary now for your bathroom or for the guest bathroom. Small decorative soaps placed in your guest bath look stylish . . . a gallon of pineapple mint shampoo in that ugly bottle is not needed anymore and looks a bit silly.
Look under the bathroom sinks and get rid of products that have been around for several years. Your kids will bring their own bottles of lotions when they visit so you don’t need to hold onto items for them. Those potions that promised amazing results in two weeks? If they haven’t worked after twelve weeks, then they need to be tossed or donated. If you haven’t used the product within six months, donate it to a shelter. If there’s an inch of conditioner left in that mega bottle, it’s time to designate it to the bottles-be-gone list.
Treat yourself to an upgraded shampoo or lotion at this time in your life. Your skin and hair will thank you and most likely you can afford to spend a little bit more on that luxurious lotion. Check out the ingredient list and make sure you aren’t exposing yourself to harsh chemicals. Read more here.
Buy a few canvas baskets to place under the sinks and then your potions will stay neat and organized. Bed Bath and Beyond offers a striped basket in several sizes. Get busy with those bathroom bottles and leave a comment below. Let us know how it’s going or send us a photo of your organized spaces.
